You’ll jump out of the plane once it reaches a height of 10,000 metres, but don’t worry as you’ll be strapped to an experienced instructor. Although you might think that there will be lots of time to appreciate the panoramic vista, do make sure that you’re paying attention, as you’ll only be up in the air for anything from 6 to 8 minutes. If you’re a fan of adrenaline-fuelled adventures, you’ll want to make sure that you’ve got your GoPro with you to document the spectacular view.

You’ll jump out at 10,000 metres, strapped to an experienced instructor. You might think there’ll be lots of time to take in the views, but you’ll only be airborne for 6-8 minutes. If you’re a seasoned adrenaline junkie, make sure your GoPro is charged and ready to go.

The difference between these two is 87 words vs 48 words, and the effect is huge. The first paragraph is a real effort to get through; the second is much snappier and doesn’t leave anything out. Bloated copy is not a good thing.

7. Get to the point

Sometimes you’ll need to talk about the less glamorous aspects of travel, such as bus transfers, documentation and check-ins, but try not to go into too much detail. Just give the essential info and move on to the interesting stuff. Similar to the previous point, don’t get bogged down in the minutiae of a holiday – just give people the best bits. People on average only read 20% of a web page’s content, so don’t waste words!

1. Make sure that your car has the right tyres and equipment for the conditions which you plan to drive in

Take my advice and make sure to take regular rest stops on long drives. Also, make sure to go to sleep early the night before you’re due to complete a lengthy drive. As if you drive whilst you’re tired you’ll be a lot more likely to be involved in a car accident.

As when you’re tired your brain takes longer to process information and if a car is close to hitting your car, you may not be alert enough to swerve out of the way of danger in time.

3. On long drives split up driving duty with the others who you’re traveling with

Instead of driving the whole distance by yourself, ask your friends or family members whether they’d like to give you a break by driving for a short distance. Personally, when I travel long distances I try to travel with at least one companion who has a full drivers license. As I find that I’m far more alert when I drive when I haven’t been driving for hours on end.

4. Make sure to get your car assessed by a mechanic on a regular basis

While you may be hesitant to visit your local mechanic as you may be worried that you’ll be told that your car has a long list of repairs to be completed, it’s still well worth ensuring that you take your car to a mechanic at least once a year. As in the event that your car does require serious repairs, it’s better to find out about the state of your car as soon as possible.

As an example, if your car’s brakes are in poor condition and need to be replaced, if you were to keep driving with unreliable brakes you may be involved in a totally avoidable car accident.

5. Check the pressure of each of your tyres on a regular basis

It’s also a great idea to check the pressure of each of your tyres on a regular basis as if you drive around with tyres which are too flat or overinflated you’ll be highly likely to burst your tyres or to get a flat tyre.
